Best Travel Quotes… or not?

The large amount of “Top 25-30-40-50 travel quotes” posted on the Web desist me from writing another impersonal list. 
First because it is frustrating to read 20-30 illuminating sentences with their progressive number, try to do it and your brain will abandon the ship after the fifth one! Second because these pearls of wisdom listed all together lose their significance and their ability to make people think about their meaning. 


So here is a brief list, probably you won’t find “the best” or “the coolest” quotations but I underline and circle these quotes during years of readings and honestly writing this list to me is like opening a treasure chest! So if you want enjoy an (implicit) written lifestory and some useful remarks to chew on.

  • I have read so many quotes, but these are all new ones to me. I like the one by Bruce Chatwin, although I would replace the notebook with camera and memory card 🙂 Love your photos!

  • I love the quote of Rolf Potts. He couldn't be more right! That's exactly how I try to travel – sometimes I make it, sometimes I don't, but you at least have to make an effort to slow down while travelling.

  • Hi Monika, thanks for your comment! I know many people that travel only to put a flag on the map, visiting the countries in a superficial way, just to take and show some photos in front of the main monuments. Another way of social competition where we lost the opportunity of an interesting conversation!
